This is the area in our yard we selected to start our project. It is next to our garden and has a tree so our girls will have some shade.

 View from our deck. The coop and the run will be 10' X 5'. The ground was really soft this time of year so the digging was easy.

 Dug out the foundation. Found lots of roots from the tree. But it was worth doing next to the tree so we have shade on those hot days.

 Put down some hardware cloth for a predator barrier and started to lay the foundation.

Gary working to put in the foundation. Cool day overcast but was a really nice day to be outside working. Will continue to post updates as we make progress. With the time change I should have time in the afternoons to work if the weather is good.
